About Me
I was born on September 30 in 1986. Although originally from Seattle, I've also lived in Atlanta and La Crescenta, California (about 12 miles due north of downtown Los Angeles), at different points of my life. I currently reside in Tarzana, California, right in-between Encino and Woodland Hills.
I decided I wanted to get into the video game industry the first time I played through Final Fantasy VIII. I was about 13 or 14, and it was the first game I played where the narrative tried to say something other than "Destroy the ultimate evil," "save the princess," etc. Except I didn't think the love subplot was very good. Great potential... just not so good a delivery. I decided there must be room for people with a storytelling background in this business.
I'm not claiming to be the world's best writer. I'm just saying the video game medium is young, we haven't begun to scratch the surface of their narrative potential, and I'm willing to give it my best shot.
My favorite video game of all time hovers between The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid. From a narrative perspective, my gaming heroes are Tim Schafer, David Cage, Ragnar Tornquist and Ken Levine, to name a few. Ron Gilbert, Jane Jensen and Al Lowe, to name a few more.
